The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Range Attendant - Part Time 19 at Markham Park & Target Range. This role involves performing a variety of customer service and range operations activities, monitoring patron activity at various locations, and ensuring the safety of patrons and staff while minimizing unsafe actions and conditions. The position operates under close to general supervision according to established procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of firearm usage and safety, as well as the ability to interact effectively with the public. As a Range Attendant, you will be responsible for collecting fees from customers for range usage, targets, and other services. This includes opening and closing the register, counting money, taking inventory, and preparing bank deposits. You will also be tasked with pulling flights for skeet, trap, and sporting clays, loading clay target machines, setting up field equipment, and maintaining assigned range areas to ensure a clean and safe shooting environment. Additionally, you will interact with patrons to answer questions, clarify information, and instruct them on target range safety procedures and protocols. In the absence of a supervisor, you may be assigned as a lead worker to facilitate efficient range operations. The role requires maintaining a variety of range equipment to ensure a safe environment for usage, minimizing downtime, and reducing repair or replacement costs. The position may also involve performing related work as assigned, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of the range operations.
