About The Position

Menzies Aviation is seeking a Ramp Supervisor to oversee ramp agents responsible for unloading and loading luggage, freight, and cargo on and off commercial aircraft. This role involves directing the work of ramp agents, allocating resources, and ensuring adherence to company safety regulations. The supervisor will also be responsible for completing shift reports, clearing exceptions from the T&A system, and interpreting various aircraft loading documents. The position requires the ability to drive and operate small specialized commercial vehicles and may occasionally involve operating other ground support equipment. Physical demands include heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stretching, with the ability to comfortably lift up to 70 lbs. The work environment is both indoors and outdoors, requiring comfort in all weather conditions, and involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing including a drug test
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Capable of lifting comfortably 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to successfully complete Training
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Work is done indoors and outdoors. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of prior ramp experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise lead agents; allocating ramp agent resources as needed.
  • Complete shift reports and clear all exceptions from the T&A system in a timely manner
  • Ensure that ramp personnel adheres to established company safety regulations.
  • Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifest, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
  • Assist in the baggage handling area.
  • May occasionally operate various pieces of ground support equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
