About The Position

We are seeking an experienced below the wing, Ramp Service Manager to oversee the operations and management of our Houston, TX location at IAH airport. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in airfield ramp operations management for aircraft interior service, ensuring the smooth functioning of all airfield activities. ONLY CANDIDATES WITH THE QUALIFICATIONS LISTED BELOW WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION: 5 years of management experience in an airfield ramp operations environment (below the wing). A valid driver's license for at least one full year, with a clean driving record, without any moving violations, accidents or suspensions in the last 3 years, is required. Experience and knowledge of driving on the airfield at George Bush Intercontinental Airport LOCATION: George Bush Intercontinental Airport POSITION STATUS: This position is FULL-TIME, Salary Exempt Must be available to work rotating shifts (overnight, weekend shifts, irregular shifts and absence coverage), all schedules include weekends and holidays. SALARY: $65-70K/yr. Hire and train new employees, manage work schedules, monitor work performance, order supplies, and maintenance of equipment. Assist in the coordination of startup of new locations, new contracts, site closures and aid with operation management training. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Oversight of planning, scheduling, development, procurement, logistics and monitoring the transition, startup, sustainment, and if required, closure of operations sites. Support training for operations management team. Establish operational Safety Action Plans, track accidents, and injury goals for performance and confirm the established safety programs comply with corporate policy. Reduce OJI claims. Promptly, (within an hour, except in extenuating circumstances), be present on the airfield or facility, to begin the investigation of any accidents, incidents or injuries reported by staff. Review and/or prepare reports of findings from investigations of accidents, injuries, and inspections of facilities. Assist with station quality assurance audits. Audit work progress, equipment, materials, and worksites to verify safety and ensure that specifications are met. Establish and direct workforce plan designed to meet future staffing needs with an emphasis on the professional development of internal candidates for promotion. Develop current staff to work closely with customers’ management and front-line team members to increase productivity. Coordinate the management performance evaluation process and support all recommended training and goals related to management development. Encourage employee suggestions and involvement in the improvement and growth of the station, its processes, and people. Work closely with the training activities necessary for current operations, future openings, and transitioning of new markets/stations. Review the current training program and initiate necessary improvements for the safe and compliant operation of the facility. Build and cultivate relationships within the regional aviation community to procure new business. Maintain supplied budget from corporate, manage labor costs, spending, and fulfill service quotas to maximize monthly revenue. Ensure customers’ specifications and requirements are followed, all products and services are prepared and/or performed to the customers’ satisfaction. Develop and maintain excellent client relationships through periodic meetings at individual airports. Promote, initiate, and conduct effective communication between departments, groups, and individuals for the understanding of and emphasis of the company’s commitment to customers & individuals. Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and policy manual development. Organizing and seeing to the safe and appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to accomplish certain work. Be available to work on all scheduled days to meet workload productivity standards.

Requirements

  • 5 years of management/leadership experience in an airfield ramp operations environment (interior service).
  • Language skills: Proficient English required.
  • Strong mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, knowledge of averages and percentages, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software packages.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact well with multiple departments as required.
  • Self-starter with a high-energy work style and ability to motivate employees.
  • Highly organized and attention to detail required.
  • Able to understand and implement air carrier, airport, and government agencies' requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety/security operations, rules, regulations, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Safety conscious work approach is required.
  • Be physically present to work on all scheduled days to meet workload productivity standards.
  • Able to work floating shifts and/or extra hours to satisfy operational needs.
  • Required: Airport security badge - must be able to attain an airport security badge during the hiring process and maintain an active badge for the duration of employment, without lapse at any time. Attaining an airport security badge is an essential function of this position, you will be required to go through the airport's process to obtain an airport security badge, which allows you access to all areas in which Flightline Support Group LLC operates. This is an airport requirement for you to access the airfield where all work is completed.
  • Required: A valid driver's license for at least 1 full year, preferably 5 full years, with a clean driving. Must maintain a valid driver's license for the duration of employment without lapse. Driving company vehicles and equipment is an essential function of this position, Managers must maintain a valid driver's license without lapse for the duration of employment with Flightline Support Group LLC, and must maintain a clean driving. During the training process, Managers must pass all airport required driver training to be able to drive on the airfield and must also pass a driving evaluation by Flightline Support Group LLC.
