About The Position

Under direction of the Operations Supervisors, this entry level position performs a variety of aircraft ground support and ground service duties. These duties must be performed in a safe, timely and efficient manner in accordance with Company policies and procedures. This is a full-time position working ten (10) hour shifts. Must be available to work forty (40) hours per week, varied shifts in a twenty-four (24) hour, seven (7) days per week schedule.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience at an airport fixed-base operator (FBO), aircraft handling work environment preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience may be considered by the HR Manager and Deputy Airport Manager.
  • Must pass mandatory drug screenings, criminal background checks & obtain security clearance.
  • Must maintain a valid Class C motor vehicles operator’s license as issued by the State of California.
  • Completion of a Professional Line Service Technician Certification within six months of hire date.
  • Completion of ALL Cal/OSHA required training within first 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service while servicing aircraft.
  • Inspect and operate all aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) safely, such as water cart, lavatory cart, air start, air stairs, tug, belt loader, baggage cart, food handling machines and storage. Required to immediately report any equipment defects to the Maintenance Department. Also includes washing vehicles and GSE.
  • Ground service duties include aircraft marshalling and fueling aircraft, loading, and unloading luggage, providing ground support equipment (GSE) service, aircraft towing, and other ramp functions as required.
  • Provides customer service tasks such as checking in/out rental car keys; delivering catering, ice and coffee to aircraft; and wheelchair service upon passenger request.
  • Perform regular Foreign Object Debris (FOD) checks on the airfield.
  • Perform wildlife abatement in accordance with USDA training and practices.
  • Communicate services provided to Operations Officers for billing purposes.
  • Complete and enforce the Airfield Operations Area (AOA) Safety and Drivers Training requirements which includes adhering to airfield badging security measures, be proficient in driving and maneuvering vehicles and equipment on the AOA, provide escort and communication functions on the AOA, ability to open/close large, heavy vehicle/pedestrian gates with complicated locking mechanism and maintain security to those AOA access points.
  • Assist Airport Administration with various activities associated with special events, construction projects, etc.
  • Perform sanitation maintenance of ice machines, coffee machines, catering refrigerators. Keep the customer lobby, coffee service and pilots lounge areas stocked and clean.
  • Follow and be proficient in all company standard operating procedures such as hazardous materials spill response and storm water pollution prevention and other training as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
