About The Position

Herzog Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Railroad Signals and Systems Estimator in St. Joseph, MO to join our team. Duties and Responsibilities: This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position. Work in a team environment and with other estimators. Participate in job walks, pre-bid meetings, and site visits to gather real-world insights. Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate and competitive estimates for railroad signal and systems components. Perform quantity takeoffs for systems elements. Develop cost breakdowns and pricing model using historical data, supplier quotes, and production rates. Support value engineering efforts and constructability reviews. Estimate close-out. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position. Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Communicate professionally to all parties both orally and in writing.
Detail orientated and strong organizational skills.
Must work well in team environment.
Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review
Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen
Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.

Nice To Haves

4-year degree in construction related field or equivalent experience preferred.
5-10 years estimating or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience with Bluebeam and HCSS Heavybid is a plus.
