About The Position

Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a Railroad Bridge Project Manager to join our Rail Engineering team in Florida! Our rail and transit experts bring broad industry expertise to every project and have extensive experience in the Class 1 and short line freight railroad environment and provide engineering and design for commuter rail, light rail, bus transit and para-transit operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering required.
  • 10+ years of railroad bridge engineering and project management experience required.
  • PE license required.
  • Prior experience in Class 1 and short line freight railroad environment.
  • Experience with business development, client relations, and mentoring staff highly preferred.
  • Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
  • Must be able to comply with 49 CFR Part 219 Drug and Alcohol Testing.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with business development, client relations, and mentoring staff highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful execution of projects under their management, including planning, quality assurance, meeting deadlines, and overseeing financial aspects.
  • Plan, design, and direct assigned projects, and assist the Department Manager with all facets of rail engineering products.
  • Various rail projects include new or rehabilitated bridges, culverts, associated site work serving Class 1, short line, passenger, and freight.
  • Fulfill client manager role for clients in the rail discipline and market for other disciplines.
  • Prepare proposals (assumptions, scope of work, budget, etc.).
  • Prepare and negotiate project contract, terms, and conditions.
  • May provide direct supervision to staff, including goal setting, evaluation, and professional development.
  • Occasional field work and bridge inspection duties may be required.
