About The Position

PSC Group is now hiring entry level Railcar Technician to join our team! This is a regular full-time, essential position with potential advancement opportunities. Pay Range: Starting at $14.50 with opportunity for advancement.

Requirements

  • Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available.
  • May require a valid Driver's License and/or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location.
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Opens and inspects all railcar hatches for excessive product.
  • Inspects and removes debris from railcars and completes documentation.
  • Cleans railcars by sweeping and throwing away trash.
  • Coordinates with rail switch crew to remove cleaned cars and spot dirty for cleaning.
  • Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.
  • Interprets job work orders and follows blueprints/schematics to perform required repairs.
  • Utilizes basic mechanical skills and builds knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut and gouge.
  • Notifies of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks.
  • Follows all safety rules, keeps work area clean and complies with all ARS Environmental Health and Safety Policies.
  • Ensures AAR, ARS and customer quality assurance standards are met.
  • Examines track list to spot, separate, load and/or build railcars for shipment.
  • Ensures railcars are properly connected and/or are secured by setting the brake.
  • Separates loaded railcars that will be shipped from those that have been preloaded.
  • Weighs all inbound and outbound loads and empties to ensure weights do not exceed.
