About The Position

The Railcar Loader Operator at Martin Marietta is responsible for operating mobile equipment to move raw materials from trains to stockpiles and load finished products. This position requires maintaining roadways and loading areas, ensuring safety compliance, and performing equipment inspections and maintenance. The role is based at the Mill Creek Limestone Quarry and involves working irregular shifts, including nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Ability to complete pre-shift inspection reports.
  • Ability to work irregular shifts, including days/nights and weekends.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and verbally communicating in English.
  • Basic math skills, including calculations using fractions and percentages.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and operation of large power equipment.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in rail unloading and maintenance operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various mobile equipment, including motor graders, track mobiles, and haul units.
  • Perform daily pre-shift inspections on equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on service mobile equipment and report needed repairs.
  • Follow safety rules, regulations, and procedures as set forth by MSHA/OSHA.
  • Provide relief in other plant operations such as rail unloading, maintenance, quality control, and scale house.
  • Maintain quality of all products.
  • Assist with equipment and plant repairs, maintenance, and housekeeping as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
