Savage’s railcar repair team, at their new state-of-the-art facility in Gregory, TX, is looking for railcar inspectors. As a Railcar Inspector you will perform detailed inspections of trains and perform minor “running” repairs of railcars entering and exiting Savage’s facility. You will also perform brake tests of outbound trains and direct instructions for railcar rebuild, repair, and inspect railway cars according to AAR, FRA, and company regulations. You will use a mix of hand tools, power tools, instruments, and other equipment to safely and efficiently perform light repairs on cars. You will also use portable or stationary devices to log repair needs based on their inspections. All repairs will be done under the supervision of a maintenance manager and you will work in tandem with railcar repairmen. This role requires a journeyman railcar repair background.
