Job Summary: The Rail Car Craftsman III is responsible for maintaining the passenger car fleet by inspecting and performing necessary maintenance and repairs of the railway cars, safely and efficiently, ensuring train cars meet expectations, and presentation standards, and are safe and suitable for service. The Details: Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Pay: $21.20 Schedule:4 day 10 hour work week ( Monday - Thursday) ( Off Friday, Saturday, Sunday). . Requirements
- Minimum one-year previous experience in mechanical or construction trades such as; carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding, painting, etc.
- Possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License and comply with Xanterra/GCR Vehicle Policy.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Fully understands and supports Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
- Troubleshoots problems and performs repairs and rebuilding of passenger cars, this includes but is not limited to painting, sanding, sandblasting, plumbing, electrical, etc.
- Troubleshoots problems and performs heavy Mechanical repairs and rebuilding of passenger cars, including but not limited to the operation of heavy machinery such as; overhead crane, drop table, Drill press, band saw and all forms of power tools.
- Maintains a neat, clean and organized work area.
- Works in a safe manner and maintains compliance with all prescribed Company, statutory/regulatory policies and procedures regarding worker safety, vehicle operation, risk management, HAZMAT, HAZCOM, DOT and FRA regulations.
- Maintains quality of company tools and equipment, immediately reports broken or damaged equipment to the manager on duty.
- Assis and complete all necessary repairs to passenger Cars as assigned individually or as a team.
- Meets mandatory deadlines, completes work in a timely and accurate manner, ensures train cars meet expectations, and are safe and suitable for passengers.
- Understands and complies with all Company environmental management and control of hazardous materials and waste procedures, Maintains awareness and up to date training with respect to the potential hazards associated with this position and operation.
- Other Duties as assigned.
