Pacific Rail Services is hiring immediately for an Entry Level position as a Rail Terminal Operator working at the CSX Worcester, MA Rail Terminal. This is a permanent position in a recession-proof industry with the TCU Union. The company is committed to teaching you everything you need to know to be successful in this role. You will be employed directly through Pacific Rail Services and will not be an employee of the railroad. In this role, you will combine the responsibilities of a Hostler Driver and Ground Person. You will learn to operate a jockey truck, maneuvering 53ft trailers, containers, and chassis around the rail yard. Your duties will include engaging in various ground tasks such as climbing on and off railcars, securing tracks, and handling inner box connectors (IBC's). You will also assist crane operators with equipment loading and unloading using hand signals. Additionally, you will play a key role in stacking and unstacking chassis, as well as loading and unloading chassis racks. This position requires you to fulfill other assigned duties in a dynamic and team-oriented work environment. The starting rate for this position is $20 per hour, with the potential to earn between $55,000 and $75,000 in your first year, including overtime. The company is hiring for multiple shifts, typically requiring employees to work 12-hour shifts. Medical benefits start after 60 days and the first of the month following that, while other benefits begin after a 90-day probationary period.
