About The Position

The Rail Traffic Controller position is based in the Control Center and plays a critical role in the rail and mover daily operations. It is a fast-paced, 24/7 environment that requires strong focus, clear communication skills, and sound decision-making. Candidates must have strong computer skills, the ability to multitask, and the capacity to work effectively in a team setting to be successful. The position operates on a three-shift rotation, covering all days of the week—including weekends and holidays. Both verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to make independent decisions are needed in this role. This position is tasked with maintaining a safe and efficient rail service.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree; or High school diploma or GED and three years of mass transportation experience in the resolution of operational problems related to scheduled services, equipment failures, loss of power, and other service disruptions.
• One year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Completion of 60 semester credits may substitute up to two years of mass transportation experience.
• Experience in the Transit Instructor classification will be credited as supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or GED with four years of experience as a Train Operator.
