About The Position

The Rail Terminal Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in daily operations at an active rail transloading facility. This position is responsible for coordinating the safe and efficient movement of product from railcars to trucks while supporting terminal operations and customer needs. The Rail Terminal Operations Coordinator works closely with terminal personnel, trucking companies, and customers to ensure schedules, documentation, and inventory are handled accurately and on time. This is a hands-on, operations-focused role based at the terminal and is not a dispatch-only or remote position. As a Rail Terminal Operations Coordinator, you will coordinate inbound and outbound truck movements, prepare shipping documentation including bills of lading and hazmat paperwork, and monitor shipper inventory levels. You will help manage railcar and truck traffic within the terminal, address operational issues as they arise, and respond to customer inquiries in a professional manner. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask are essential for success in this role. The Rail Terminal Operations Coordinator must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial terminal environment and following all safety regulations and company policies. Prior experience in terminal operations, logistics, rail, transloading, or trucking environments is preferred. Candidates should have strong computer skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a high school diploma or GED. The ability to work independently while supporting a team-based operation is required. Working conditions include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Work is performed at an active rail terminal and may include exposure to outdoor and industrial environments typical of rail operations. Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid vacation and holidays, an annual steel toe boot allowance, periodic safety bonuses, and opportunities for career advancement within rail and terminal operations. Established in 1987, Road & Rail Services is a leading provider of rail-related solutions across North America.
