The rail terminal location manager will direct, promote, and coordinate the location in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service. You will be responsible for managing all employees at the facility while maintaining operations, safety, and customer service to represent the Garden City Co-op. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a grain storage facility is required. The elevator location manager’s responsibilities involve supervision, reporting, grain handling and management, rail car loading and unloading, safety and maintenance, service, and other duties as assigned by the area grain supervisor. The elevator location manager will maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative and presents a favorable image of the cooperative. Supervision involves training personnel, communicating to employees, helping staff the location, delegating workload, support employee growth and teamwork, and uphold cooperative policies. Reporting involves communicating to management storage space availability, operations, grain condition, and any problems that may require additional help. Grain management involves assuring proper grain storage and condition, blending grain for proper storage, practicing good housekeeping, and monitoring rodent infestation. Grain handling involves handling incoming, binned, and outgoing grain, maintaining the quality of grains, blending grains. Safety and maintenance involve following safety regulations and maintaining equipment and facilities. Service involves providing customer service that will result in a pleasant and efficient facility. The rail terminal location manager will uphold cooperative policies and perform other duties as assigned by management.
