AECOM is actively seeking a talented Rail Systems / Catenary Engineer for employment within the New England region. Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field plus 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years' experience in railway systems (Overhead Catenary Systems/Traction Power)
  • 6 years of related experience in railway (overhead catenary systems, traction power, track)
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenRoads or OpenRail
  • Experience working with Connecticut Department of Transportation, Metro-North Railroad, Amtrak, MBTA, or other passenger/commuter railroad agencies
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Be an integral part of our WORLD CLASS RAIL DESIGN group
  • Develop overhead catenary systems layout drawings, profiles, hanger tabulations, erection diagrams and technical specifications
  • Perform quality control reviews and design checks of railroad projects
  • Lead major tasks
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state & local regulations Overhead Catenary System (OCS)
  • Serve as a project manager on mid-large size projects
  • Coordinate team and provide technical expertise for mid-large size projects
  • Lead technical client relationships related to design, construction and phasing of the work
  • Coordinate with multiple departments related to a project's scope of work
  • Mentor staff to develop a team to support work throughout New England and beyond
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships with clients
