Railserve is hiring dependable, safety-focused Rail Switching Technicians in Belle, WV to support daily rail operations at industrial facilities. This is a full-time, outdoor, hands-on role critical to keeping railcars moving safely and efficiently. Learn more at www.Railserve.com Job Description In this role, you’ll work as part of a team to move, organize, and secure railcars, supporting customer operations and ensuring every move is performed with precision and care. Whether you bring prior rail experience or are looking to grow your career in rail operations, Railserve provides paid training, strong leadership support, and long-term career opportunities. If you enjoy physical work, problem-solving, and working in a fast-paced environment where safety and teamwork come first, this role may be a great fit. Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, with some overtime Compensation: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on experience)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle equipment (up to ~50 lbs)
  • Climb on and off railcars, ladders, and platforms
  • Ability to wear required PPE without restriction
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

  • Military experience and experience following detailed procedures is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with moving and securing railcars
  • Operate switches, gates, and hand brakes
  • Connect and disconnect railcars
  • Guide locomotives using radio or hand signals
  • Monitor track conditions and identify hazards
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Perform additional duties to support safe rail operations
