About The Position

Join the V3 Team and take your career to the next level! We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Rail Project Manager to support our Transportation & Municipal Engineering Group in our Woodridge, IL office. The ideal candidate will provide design engineering services on projects involving rail corridor improvements, rail crossings, grade separations, yard and facility improvements, and various services for freight railroads, passenger rail and transit agencies, local municipalities, state DOTs, and county DOTs. You will also provide technical assistance across regional offices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years leading rail projects for Class I Railroads, passenger rail, and transit agencies.
  • PE/BSCE required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • AREMA Membership preferred.
  • Microstation/OpenRail experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work within our Chicago Region Transportation and Municipal Engineering team.
  • Collaborate with other V3 group leaders across all offices of the firm in the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects and project pursuits.
  • Work closely with our talented staff, clients, and subconsultants.
  • Coordinate design activities seamlessly.
  • Ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and performance targets.
  • Establish and manage delivery protocols pertaining to rail engineering projects.
  • Lead in engineering design tasks for rail projects.
  • Mentor and guide our team members.
  • Review rail engineering documents meticulously.
  • Craft compelling proposals and attend interviews for new project pursuits.
  • Forge relationships with Class I Railroads and public sector clientele by attending networking events.
  • Become an active member of AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association). Join a technical committee and contribute to industry advancements.
  • Manage client accounts, billing, and collections.
