About The Position

Rail Loaders are responsible for vehicle preparation i.e. VIN verification, vehicle status checks, visible damage inspection, etc.; Safe vehicle movement on campus; Proficient and efficient loading of vehicles onto railcars; Vehicle securement and documentation. Other responsibilities include safety and compliance, equipment maintenance, and team communication.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED (Required)
  • All applicants must include the necessary information on resumes and/or to enable employer to conduct past employment references.
  • Hyundai GLOVIS EV conducts pre-employment screenings such as employment verification, physicals, drug screens and criminal background checks.
  • Employees must be able to successfully provide and complete these to begin employment.
  • Hyundai GLOVIS EV also verifies new hires through E-Verify.
  • Hyundai GLOVIS EV is a Drug Free / Tobacco Free Workplace and is an EEO Employer.
  • We will also be certified under the CTPAT Program through Homeland Security.

Responsibilities

  • Drive passenger vehicles of various sizes
  • Walk, stand, bend, kneel, climb, and balance on railcars
  • Ascend and descend railcar ladders and loading ramps
  • Work at heights while loading upper rail car levels
  • Apply physical force to install and remove securement devices
  • Lift, carry, and handle tools and equipment (typically 45lbs to 50lbs)
  • Identify unsafe conditions and stop work when necessary
  • Follow verbal and written safety instructions accurately
  • Work safely around moving rail equipment and vehicles
  • Maintain reliable attendance
  • Read and interpret load plans, diagrams, and work instructions
  • Accurately match VINs and vehicle locations
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members
  • Work outdoors in other than ideal weather conditions
  • Work in noisy environments near rail operations
  • Respond quickly to changing priorities and emergency situations
  • Maintain constant situational awareness in an active rail environment
  • Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
  • Ability to Bend, turn, and use peripherals as required to operate equipment safely within company standard operator procedures.
  • Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing up to 50 lbs., depending on the location, throughout shift.
  • Able to work in a warehouse environment for up to 8-hour shifts, and any overtime hours if applicable.
