About The Position

Rail Construction Inspector STV is seeking a Sr Construction Inspector to join our firm in our Hartford CT office. Responsibilities of the position typically include: Oversee and inspect construction activities related to or rail/transit projects. Ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and verifying contractor submissions. Identify and document nonconforming work and ensure timely corrective action Oversee and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and change orders. Assist in coordinating project schedules, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records of construction activities. Supervise, mentor, and assign work to inspectors and field technicians to ensure proper coverage and documentation. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and agency representatives, to facilitate project success. Prepare correspondence, reports, and recommendations regarding construction issues.

Requirements

  • 15 plus years of experience in construction engineering and inspection.
  • Experience on transportation infrastructure projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes, contract administration, and construction documentation.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and methods
  • Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site as needed.
  • FRA Track Safety Standards (Parts 213 / 214)
