Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from a 4-yr ABET accredited college or university.
  • 5-10 years of experience with the design of transit / freight rail engineering projects.
  • PE License, or the ability to get one within 6 months of joining.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.).
  • Experience with engineering design packages such as MicroStation V8i, Geopak SS2, & OpenRoads.
  • Knowledge with OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review design reports, drawings, specifications, & cost estimates.
  • Research client standards & requirements; explore multiple design options, code requirements and present findings.
  • Demonstrate strong client relations.
  • Lead and mentor staff level engineers in the performance of project tasks.
  • Communicate with, and attend meetings with: clients, subconsultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Participate in business development activities including information gathering, conceptual design, and proposal writing.
  • Ensure accuracy of engineering design and plans, quality presentation, thoroughness and follow-through, and conformance to budgets, schedules, and company standards.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
