About The Position

The RAE South Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations on the manufacturing floor. This role involves coordinating activities, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining high-quality standards, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment. The RAE South Lead acts as a liaison between the production team and management, facilitating communication and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using manufacturing software and systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership and direction to the production team, ensuring adherence to production schedules.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and conduct training to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and employee engagement.
  • Oversee the production process, ensuring products are manufactured on time and meet quality standards.
  • Coordinate with different departments (e.g., Quality Control, Maintenance, Logistics) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify and resolve any production issues, such as bottlenecks or equipment malfunctions, to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all products meet the company’s quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Implement and monitor corrective actions when quality issues arise.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and report any workplace accidents or safety incidents.
  • Identify areas for improvement in production processes and workflows.
  • Participate in or lead continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma projects.
  • Implement best practices to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to management.
  • Ensure all production-related documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
  • Assist in the hiring and onboarding of new production employees.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing opportunities for skill development and career growth.
  • Address employee concerns and work to resolve conflicts within the team.
