The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images while prioritizing patient care and safety. The technologist operates complex imaging equipment, positions patients, and collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to aid in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.

  • Perform various diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray and Fluoroscopy equipment while ensuring proper positioning and image quality.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment to capture accurate and high-quality images.
  • Respond to patient needs and provide assistance during procedures.
  • Operate and maintain X-ray equipment, adhering to safety protocols and radiation protection regulations to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
  • Review and evaluate images for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and physicians regarding X-ray procedures and results.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to discuss findings and determine the need for additional imaging.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Assist with the direction and guidance for departmental workflow.
  • Assist with any necessary State or Accreditation requirements.
  • Assist the Radiology Administration team with any other requested duties.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, regulations, and hospital policies.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with advancements in imaging technology and techniques.
  • Assist with training and orienting new technologists.
  • Assist with training students who are in the Radiology Technology program.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as an X-ray technologist preferred.
  • Completion of a Radiology Technology program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed in the state of Kansas.
  • BLS certified.
  • Strong patient care and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and practices.
