About The Position

The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic imaging examinations using established radiologic techniques to support accurate diagnosis and high-quality patient care. Working under the direction of a radiologist and in accordance with departmental protocols, the Technologist prepares and positions patients, operates imaging equipment, and ensures studies are completed safely, efficiently, and with attention to patient comfort. The role functions as part of a collaborative radiology team, working closely with physicians, technologists, and support staff to maintain smooth patient flow and dependable imaging operations. The position maintains accurate documentation and consistently upholds radiation-safety and quality-assurance standards. Through clinical expertise, attention to detail, and compassionate patient interaction, the Radiology Technologist contributes to a supportive, patient-centered care environment and reliable diagnostic outcomes.

Requirements

  • ARRT registered or registry eligible.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days.
  • NDMIRTBE licensed (Temporary, Active/Current, or Conditional).
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, as evidenced by above license and registered or registry eligible in Radiography with the ARRT.
  • Able to position patient part appropriately for diagnostic imaging.
  • Able to select technique and adjust techniques according to body habitus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex diagnostic radiographic procedures in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and radiation-safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging, explaining procedures, verifying patient information, and ensuring comfort and safety throughout the exam.
  • Operate radiographic equipment and related systems, monitor image quality, and enter required documentation into the electronic health record and radiology information systems.
  • Assist with patient transport, exam room preparation, and workflow coordination to support efficient patient throughput within the Radiology Department.
  • Practice ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients, self, and others, and promptly report equipment issues or safety concerns.
  • Participate in departmental quality initiatives, support compliance activities, and follow all Trinity Health policies, procedures, and service standards.
