  • Responsible for his or her actions, and individually accountable for satisfied patients/customers, confidentiality or patient and hospital information, quality outcomes, efficient operations, and the overall success of North Oaks Health System.
  • Performs all routine radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures including surgical and portable examinations as assigned. Demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning and administers contrast media according to the department policy and procedure manual. Obtains patient history and clinical data for correlation with the radiographs.
  • Reviews images for proper positioning, technique and identification.
  • Accountable for attending staff meetings, Complies with wearing of Hospital Identification badge as instructed, knows appropriate use of breaks and mealtimes, keeps up with Organizational and Departmental Regulator Compliance (OSHA, JCAHO, HCFA, OIG, etc…), Competencies, Policies and Procedures, Work area Cleanliness.
  • Has completed all mandatory classes in the past calendar year. Has completed all in-services relating to their position. Participates in continuing education activities.
  • Assists in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and radiographic tables.
  • Maintains necessary inventory of supplies for assigned room, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, and eliminating outdated items.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required.
  • Must be licensed by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE) and achieve certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) within 90 days of graduation. (Temporary work permit through LSRTBE acceptable; however permanent licensure and certification must be achieved within 90 days of graduation.)
  • Completed American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to respond to and withstand frequent crisis situations.
  • One year Radiologic Technologist experience to include clinical rotation in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center setting preferred.
