About The Position

Provides quality diagnostic imaging to aide in patient diagnosis. Prepares and assists patients during radiological exams and testing. Work directly with physicians to facilitate proper imaging protocols.

Requirements

  • Current WA State Radiologic Technologist licensure.
  • Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA approved school, registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Must at least be accepted in an accredited radiology program.
  • Clinical skills for conducting examinations and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare team.
  • Demonstrating empathy and compassion towards patients.
  • Critical thinking for evaluating patient needs and developing treatment plans.
  • Attention to detail in documenting patient information accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively in a healthcare team.
  • Efficient time management for prioritizing tasks and appointments.
  • Adaptability to changing patient needs and healthcare protocols.
  • Cultural competence in understanding diverse patient populations.
  • Adherence to ethical and legal standards in patient care.
  • Commitment to continuous education and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as x-rays and fluoroscopic exams on patients.
  • Position patients correctly and operate x-ray equipment to capture high-quality images.
  • Ensure patient safety by following proper radiation safety protocols and shielding techniques.
  • Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment to ensure accurate and clear images.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate any concerns they may have.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure proper documentation of all procedures.
  • Stay current on the latest technology and techniques in the field of radiography to provide the highest quality care possible.
  • Aid patients with mobility issues or special needs during imaging procedures.
  • Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or complications during imaging procedures.
  • Follow all hospital or healthcare facility protocols and procedures for infection control and sanitation.
