Coordinates daily activities including performing examinations and associated clerical duties.
Requirements
- Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology.
- Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date.
- CPR certification
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
- Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers.
- Handles equipment and monitors supplies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff .
- May frequently be to stretch, bend, twist, squat or kneel in operating radiographic equipment.
- Will be to use hands for power gripping, speed work and precision during manipulation of radiographic equipment and in the case of injured or diseased patients.
- Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
- Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.
- Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
- Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
- Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
- Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
- Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
