Under the direction of the Radiologist and the supervision of the manager or supervisor, radiologic technologist performs radiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Technologists are trained in multifaceted services such as Fluoroscopy, OR, ERCP, Digital Radiography, Portable x-ray equipment, Dexa Scans, etc. and demonstrates competencies annually. This position provides maximum benefit to the patient by producing quality images with the lowest possible radiation exposure to the patient.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Allied Health
  • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Ohio Department of Health - Ohio Radiologic License
  • ARRT - Radiographer

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.
  • Demonstrate competencies annually in multifaceted services such as Fluoroscopy, OR, ERCP, Digital Radiography, Portable x-ray equipment, Dexa Scans.
  • Provide maximum benefit to the patient by producing quality images with the lowest possible radiation exposure to the patient.
  • Perform quality radiographic procedures as prescribed by a physician and in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Work effectively with patients and families to provide patient care.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental team members.
  • Comply with infection prevention procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure radiation safety.
  • Participate in student education.
  • Participate in orientation of new employees.
  • Perform quality assurance.
  • Care for equipment.
  • Meet the minimum continuing educational requirements established by the state of Ohio.
  • Maintain ARRT and ODH licensure.
  • Demonstrate ongoing CBE's.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of equipment and its operating procedures through CBE's.
  • Select proper imaging protocols and follow departmental procedures.
  • Demonstrate organizational and communication skills to promote the well-being of the department.
  • Consistently produce and evaluate diagnostic radiographs for radiological interpretation.
  • Complete all paperwork before submitting it.
  • Provide for patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after a procedure.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergent situations.
