Requirements

  • Education: Accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Credentials:
  • Washington Radiologic Technologist license (new grads may work until a WA Temporary Limited Scope Technician Registration pending ARRT certification).
  • ARRT(R) certification (new grads may be ARRT‑eligible at hire-ARRT-R required within 3 months)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic X‑rays in outpatient and hospital settings.
  • Position patients safely and set exposure properly to get clear, actionable images.
  • Complete portable exams and support surgical imaging when needed.
  • Adapt exams to the patient's condition; focus onfort and dignity.
  • Explain each step so patients feel informed and calm.
  • Confirm pregnancy status when indicated and use radiation‑safety best practices (ALARA).
  • Prepare rooms and equipment; keep supplies stocked and ready.
  • Review prior images and labs to tailor each exam.
  • Document clearly in PACS/RIS and support smooth patient flow.
  • Support students and teammates; help everyone feel included and capable.
