About The Position

The Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic radiography according to departmental protocol under the direction of a radiologist in a manner to provide exceptional customer service to each member. All duties performed will be done accurately and in a timely manner. Assumes responsibility for maintaining clerical duties according to Gonzaba Medical Group policy. Ensures customer service is always maintained at the highest level. Exercise tact and courtesy when dealing with patients, visitors, providers, and co-workers. Must always adhere to customer service expectations including in-person and virtual (via telephone, or telehealth applications) communication. Participates in educational programs as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school education or equivalent.
  • Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
  • State certification as a Medical Certified Technologist is required.
  • Current CPR/Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification with AED required.
  • All required certifications are required as initial and continued employment at Gonzaba Medical Group is contingent upon this credential.
  • Experience in diagnostic radiology in hospital or clinical setting required, with a minimum of one year of experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal.
  • Skilled in use of computer/EMR systems.
  • Knowledge of Word processing software, spreadsheet software, Internet, and database software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual ability in English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking X-rays following established procedures.
  • Instructs patients regarding procedures. Observes patients during examination.
  • Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
  • Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis.
  • Examines radiologic image for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification and distortion.
  • Authorizes release of patients upon completion of radiologic examination.
  • Ensures images are in accordance with imaging protocols and completes exams for radiologist to review.
  • Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment.
  • Participates in training employees, student technologists in equipment operation, patient movement, and quality assurance.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
