Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) licensure by the State of Florida.
  • Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • None required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Deliver appropriate patient care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Assess the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provide clear instructions to achieve patient cooperation and optimal imaging results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, obtain clinical history, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Position patients, equipment, and devices to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Evaluate diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and correct patient identification.
  • Administer contrast medications and demonstrate competency in contrast administration protocols.
  • Provide medical aid in cases of adverse contrast reactions or other emergencies.
  • Apply radiation safety principles to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Comprehend and comply with all Quality Control standards; actively participate in QC tasks.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations applicable to assigned modalities.
  • Apply standard precautions and use appropriate personal protective equipment to prevent cross‑contamination.
  • Ensure safety of all patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable laws (ADA, FMLA, etc.).
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and required education.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of duties while maintaining a demeanor consistent with high‑quality care.
  • Support and adhere to Orlando Health’s mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assist in the supervision and training of student technologists and new team members.
  • Utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Keep work areas well-stocked and organized.
  • Provide patient transport as needed.
