The primary duties of the Radiology Technologist include, but are not limited to: Provides information to guide procedures by operating radiological equipment to produce radiographs. Operates fluoroscope for physician during procedures. Complies with proper radiation safety guidelines. Appropriately documents fluoroscopy times in appropriate areas in a timely manner. Collaborates with the healthcare team and notifies the appropriate healthcare personnel of changes during procedures. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Prepares patients for radiological procedures by positioning patient, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Practices appropriate aseptic technique when setting up procedure tray, drawing up medications, draping patient, and prepping patient. Maintains radiological and procedure supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies. Scrubs during surgical procedures. Completes sterile processing of surgical tools.
