About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist – Urgent Care performs full-scope diagnostic radiographic procedures to support accurate diagnosis and treatment in the urgent care setting. This role produces high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with physician orders, regulatory requirements, and professional standards of practice. The Radiologic Technologist ensures patient safety, radiation protection, and image quality while collaborating with clinical staff to support efficient patient care delivery.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist or Limited-Scope Radiologic Technologist required
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification required
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state required
  • BLS - Basic Life Support required
  • Advanced knowledge of radiographic imaging principles, anatomy, positioning techniques, and diagnostic image evaluation.
  • Knowledge of federal and state radiation safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Skill in operating radiographic equipment and utilizing PACS and EHR systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced urgent care environments and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support patient-centered care.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in urgent or high-volume situations.
  • Flexibility to work extended shifts, weekends, and rotating holidays as required.
  • Ability to travel to other urgent care locations as needed to support staffing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Performs full-scope diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Verifies patient identity and exam details; explains procedures and provides clear instructions to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Positions patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure and adhering to ALARA principles.
  • Evaluates images for diagnostic quality, positioning accuracy, and completeness prior to submission for interpretation.
  • Operates, maintains, and performs quality control checks on radiographic equipment to ensure proper function and compliance with safety standards.
  • Documents procedures, patient history, and imaging details accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) and radiology systems.
  • Adheres to radiation safety regulations, infection prevention standards, and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Assists with patient intake, rooming, and other clinical support activities consistent with training and organizational policies.
  • Collaborates with providers and clinical staff to ensure timely imaging and coordinated patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
