About The Position

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiology Technologist performs radiographic procedures. This involves operating x-ray equipment to create radiographs of specified body parts and producing diagnostically acceptable films for radiologist interpretation. The role also includes documenting patient history, preparing documentation for all completed procedures and reports, and reporting these to the radiologist. The technologist is expected to maintain courtesy, professionalism, and confidentiality in all interactions with patients, staff, and physicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA approved school.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• BCLS required.
• Working knowledge of anatomy and principles of physics, electricity and variations of anatomical postures.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic procedures under the direction of a Radiologist.
• Operates x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated body portions.
• Produces diagnostically acceptable films for radiologist interpretation.
• Documents patient history.
• Prepares documentation of all procedures/reports completed and reports this to the radiologist.
• Maintains courtesy, professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with patients, staff and physicians.
