About The Position

McKay-Dee Hospital is seeking motivated and compassionate Radiology Technologist Students to join our imaging team on a PRN basis. Perform all diagnostic procedures within your Scope of Practice under the direct supervision of a Registered Radiologic Technologist. This role is designed to strengthen your technical expertise, build confidence in patient interactions, and prepare you for seamless transition into a Registered Radiologic Technologist position.

  • Currently enrolled in a JRCERT‑ or AMA‑accredited radiologic technology program with documented completion of clinical and didactic training required by state regulations.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

  • Practice safely and professionally within the scope of state licensure.
  • Maintain ARRT or modality‑specific competencies in all assigned clinical and technical functions.
  • Verify patient identity, confirm exam orders, and prepare patients for diagnostic procedures.
  • Perform exams according to department protocols and evaluate images for clarity, accuracy, and diagnostic quality.
  • Follow strict radiation safety standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and caregivers.
  • Complete studies efficiently while maintaining exceptional patient care and image quality.
  • Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and address any questions or concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Practice proper infection control and sterile technique at all times.
  • Operate imaging equipment and related information systems to produce high‑quality diagnostic images.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
  • Adhere to all departmental protocols including medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment concerns.
