About The Position

This role performs prescribed radiographic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Provides support of coordination of staff and area functions as well as may serve as a physician liaison.

Requirements

  • Minimum Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) Radiography certification.
  • 2 years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • CPR – American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily operations and manages non-labor expenses, activities and inventory for the department; maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies.
  • Positions patients and selects anatomical and technical parameters accurately to independently perform radiographic imaging.
  • Prepares for and assists the physician in radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • May perform phlebotomy and EKG services.
  • Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g., regulatory, billing protocol and imaging distribution.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Implements radiation protection, safety standards and assures compliance in the department.
  • Coverage of chief tech duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
