About The Position
MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated Radiology Technologist to join our team at MedStar Ambulatory Services in Timonium, MD. This role is essential in providing both clinical and administrative support within our healthcare settings, adhering to established policies and procedures. The Radiology Technologist will work under the supervision of a physician, engaging in various patient care activities including triage, care pathways, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and patient follow-up. A key responsibility of this position is to perform and transmit X-ray diagnostic images, ensuring that all documentation is accurately recorded in the medical records to support optimal patient flow. In this role, the Radiology Technologist will be responsible for acquiring ordered images, evaluating them for technical quality, and ensuring they are sent to the appropriate destinations for interpretation. The technologist will also assist in patient examinations, testing, and education, while maintaining individual credentials for radiography. The position requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, monitoring equipment functionality, and reporting any issues promptly. The technologist will also manage patient flow through effective communication and genuine regard for patient comfort. Additional responsibilities include performing various multifunctional skills such as spirometry, patient vitals, EKGs, and other testing consistent with the scope of practice. The Radiology Technologist will prepare written documentation, promote a respectful atmosphere towards patients and colleagues, and act as a mentor for clinical staff. This position is vital in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support throughout their healthcare journey, aligning with MedStar's mission, vision, and values.
