Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Radiology Technologist, Per Diem Hospital. In this role, the successful candidate Under the direction of a radiologist; operates radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Associate's Degree or Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• New York State Radiologic Technology License.
• New York State Radiologic Technology Permit can be accepted in lieu of receiving NYS License. Must become registered before expiration of temporary permit required.
• Strong communication (both written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills required.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office required.
• Thorough knowledge of Radiography equipment required.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years of Radiologic Technology experience preferred.
• Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Operates Radiology equipment to produce quality images as ordered/according to department protocols.
• Produces quality images for interpretation by the Radiologist.
• Prepares patient for exam using proper positioning/immobilization, and giving proper instructions throughout.
• Practices effective radiation protection in utilizing appropriate shielding devices when possible.
• Monitors exposure and follows department policy regarding pregnant patients.
• Proper and timely utilization of the PACs system allowing for Radiologist interpretation.
• Verifies all images are transferred to PACs in a timely matter.
• Accurate utilization of the Radiology Information Systems.
• Verifies proper exam was completed, amount of contrast (if used) is correct, and proper code is attached.
• Arrives and completes procedures in a timely fashion.
• Assists in the care and maintenance of the facilities, equipment, and supplies while abiding by WUH infection control policy and procedure.
• Maintains proper environment of care.
• Follows WUH infection control policy and procedure.
• Initiates Standard Precautions when required.
• Instructs and supervises Radiography students in clinical practicum.
• Works with Radiography students in completing exams.
• Performs QA image review with students.
