About The Position

Harborview Medical Center – Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST, MRI WORK SCHEDULE - PER DIEM DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION Advanced diagnostic imaging, specialized clinical expertise. Radiology Services at Harborview Medical Center offers a full complement of radiology tests and imaging procedures, including nuclear medicine and interventional radiology (angiography). PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares patients for examinations, explains the procedure and answers patient's questions. Screens patients for any contraindication to MRI exam. Reviews patient medical history on exam request, consults physician as necessary to ensure proper exam for each patient. Prescribes proper scanning parameters for the most common MRI exams with the assistance of documented or computer prescribed protocols. Determines optimal imaging options for most common MRI exams to minimize artifacts and decrease scan time. Post process if needed. Calculate and administer appropriate contrast for exam. Administers contrast under supervision of Radiologist. Assures that patients are properly scheduled in Radiology Information System (RIS), and exams are completed with proper billing. Assures that exam is filmed, archived and sent to PACS properly. Monitors equipment to ensure a diagnostic exam. Troubleshoots and repairs basic system malfunctions. Practices equipment safety policies and procedures. Restocks rooms of all supplies as needed. Performs related duties as required. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS - Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA-approved school, AND registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR equivalent education/experience. - Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist. Requirements
