Job Summary Perform technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative in the use of ionizing radiation for the purpose of radiographic diagnosis. Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by care providers and performs routine diagnostic procedures. Performs duties associated with operating radiologic equipment. Performs other clinical duties. Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays, following established procedures. Performs diagnostic procedures limited to the following regions proficiently: chest (not to include breast), abdomen (non-contrast procedures only), skeletal structures to include upper and lower extremities, limited spine, skull, and sinuses. Follows prescribed safety standards in opening radiologic equipment. Instructs patients regarding procedures. Maintains confidentiality of patient information. Examines radiologic film for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification and distortion. Develops and processes radiologic film. Delivers film to requester for reading/interpretation. Maintains x-ray exam room. Stocks necessary medical and radiological supplies. Maintains established Practice policies and procedures, objectives and safety standards. Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment. Responsible for routine maintenance and vendor notification of failures. Responsible for dissemination of x-ray reports and x-rays, maintaining a location log. Schedules radiologic exams to be performed at outside labs, as necessary. Gathers and prepares x-rays with physician interpretation for radiologist over read. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education - Graduate of accredited Limited General Radiologic program or Radiology Program
  • Experience - No experience required.
  • Certified as a Limited Practice Radiographer-General in the state the team member is working.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Patient equipment (Vitals, Suction, Defib)
