About The Position

This position is responsible for the production and development of quality radiographs, equipment maintenance, and quality improvement/quality control according to established policies and procedures. The role may also involve performing lab functions as required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of radiology.
• Knowledge of x-ray safety for patients and personnel.
• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
• Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence.
• Knowledge of proper patient positioning and state radiology regulations.
• Skill in performing quality control and maintaining records.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and technique problems.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Instructs patients regarding x-ray procedure.
• Prepares room, equipment, and material as needed for patient procedures.
• Communicates with providers, patients, and support staff as needed.
• Organizes and maintains x-ray supplies and inventory.
• Provides maintenance, QC, and adjustments of radiology equipment.
• Instructs other medical personnel in proper radiological techniques and the maintenance of equipment.
• Maintains film filing system including reports and film retrieval.
• Maintains knowledge of current and new technology.
• Oversees compliance programs and represents clinic Radiology department during surveys/audits.
• May also perform lab duties as needed, which may include venipuncture and collection of specimens through various routes.
• Demonstrates room and equipment cleaning process between patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
