About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist II works independently and/or assists physicians/APCs in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the x-ray equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images in the acute setting. The technologist is responsible for inpatient & outpatient procedures, the emergency room, fluoroscopy, portables, and the operating rooms.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required
  • 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred
  • Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program, required
  • Certification required within 6 months of hire post-graduation from an accredited Radiology Program
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience in diagnostic radiology, preferred
  • Licensure/Certification: ARRT certification in Radiography - RT(R), required
  • Applicable state licensure as required, required
  • Post-graduates from an accredited Radiology Program with be required to pass their ARRT registry within 6 months of completing program, required

Responsibilities

  • Works independently and/or assists physicians/APCs in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures
  • Prepares the patient and operates the x-ray equipment to obtain diagnostic images in the acute setting
  • Performs inpatient & outpatient procedures, the emergency room, fluoroscopy, portables, and the operating rooms
  • Applies principles of ALARA to minimize radiation exposure to patient, self, and others
  • Demonstrates current knowledge of federal and state radiation safety laws
  • Properly utilizes personnel monitoring devices
  • Ensures proper equipment performance and schedules maintenance for emergent needs
  • Properly operates radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment
  • Independently performs radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures, including intraoperative and mobile procedures, as prescribed by a licensed practitioner
  • Assists a licensed practitioner in the performance of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, including all intraoperative and mobile procedures
