About The Position

The position is for a Radiologic Technologist at Atrium Health Mountain Island Emergency Department, which provides 24-hour emergency medical services to the Northwest Charlotte area. The role involves performing radiographic examinations with minimal supervision under the direction of the Radiologist, coordinating daily activities, and performing associated clerical duties. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and the position is eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology.
• Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date.
• CPR certification required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
• Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
• Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
• Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
• Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
• Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.
