About The Position

The position is for a part-time Radiologic Technologist at Advocate Health's GCMG Urgent Care in Monroe. The role involves performing radiologic exams as ordered by physicians, conducting routine exams according to department standard operating procedures, and consulting with radiologists or physicians as necessary. The technologist will also be responsible for selecting proper technical factors for individual patients, operating equipment as required, maintaining patient records, obtaining specimens, and performing certain diagnostic laboratory tests as ordered by physicians. The position requires 12-hour shifts, with a total of 6 shifts in a 6-week period, including holiday and weekend requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program required.
  • Current registry with ARRT or ability to obtain registry within 6 months of hire date required.
  • 1 year experience preferred.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.
  • Must maintain current certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiologic exams as ordered by physician.
  • Performs routine exams in accordance with the department standard operating procedures.
  • Checks requisitions for physician notes and/or special instructions.
  • Consults with Radiologist or physician as necessary.
  • Selects proper technical factors on individual patient basis.
  • Operates equipment as directed by demands of individual exams.
  • Assists in maintaining adequate patient records.
  • Obtains specimens and performs certain diagnostic laboratory tests as ordered by physician.
  • Prepares specimens for transport to Medical Center or State Lab for procedures not performed at the specific facility.
