Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist. Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures. Prepares patients for exam and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist. Obtains medications, radiopharmaeceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist or registered nurse. Assists physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound) to include procedures requiring the administration of contrast media. Retrieves patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams. Assists patients to restrooms, with bedpans, urinals and other ancillary clinical support needs as required. Assists with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
