About The Position

This part-time position at Atrium Health Stanly involves performing a variety of patient care duties and other professional activities to facilitate patient care and treatment. The role is under the supervision of a radiology technologist and includes assisting in monitoring the flow of patient activities in the department. The position is sign-on bonus eligible and requires working approximately 4 hours per week on a PRN basis. The pay range for this position is $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
• Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with the pursuit of a career in medical imaging.
• Medical clerical skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
• Identify and assist patients with questions about procedures.
• Prepare patients for exams and ensure patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
• Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
• Assist physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams based on assigned modality and career pursuits.
• Retrieve patient orders and requisitions while supporting administrative or miscellaneous work tasks in the RIS, EMR, or other standard applications required in the workflow for diagnostic exams.
• Assist patients to restrooms, with bedpans, urinals, and other ancillary clinical support needs as required.
• Assist with administrative duties, quality assurance, safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
