Your job is more than a job. The Radiology Technologist Assistant assists the department with various clerical requirements. Assists with preparing rooms for patients, cleaning rooms after patients, stocking supplies and linen, transporting patients, answering phones, communicating with technologists and being an integral part of a positive patient experience. LCMC Health reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet Day to Day GENERAL DUTIES Transports patients throughout radiology, including possibly to and from emergency department or inpatient units. Facilitates getting patients ready for examinations. Assists patients off and on the examination tables. Sets up rooms for examinations or procedures. Maintains exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition, to ensure the safety of the patients and employees. Recognizes emergent situations and responds appropriately. Calls codes as needed. Identifies orders in epic, coordinates with technologist and radiologists when protocols are needed for examination. Check current lab values on patients receiving contrast. Adheres to the hospital policy on body substance isolation, demonstrates safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department and hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines, to ensure the safety of the patients and staff. Answers telephone, taking messages and returning calls when instructed. Must Haves EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical field preferred. EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS Required: High School Diploma or equivalent Required: 2 years of experience in lieu of education. Preferred: Training and/or enrollment in a Radiologic Technology program preferred. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Certification Name: CPR certification to be maintained annually.
