Your job is more than a job. The Radiology Technologist Assistant assists the department with various clerical requirements. Assists with preparing rooms for patients, cleaning rooms after patients, stocking supplies and linen, transporting patients, answering phones, communicating with technologists and being an integral part of a positive patient experience. Day to Day Explain procedure to patients/families and answer any questions to ease anxiety and assure patient cooperation. Maintain exam rooms and work areas, advocating a safe environment for everyone and following all quality control checks. Transport patients throughout radiology, including possibly to and from emergency department or inpatient units. Ready and patients for diagnostic exams and procedures, assisting patients off and on the examination tables. Set up rooms for examinations or procedures. Recognize emergent situations that may interfere with exams and take appropriate action for a positive outcome. Identify orders in epic, coordinate with technologists and radiologists when protocols are needed for examination. Check current lab values on patients receiving contrast. Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient. Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
