About the position

Under the direction of a qualified provider, the Radiology Technologist working in surgery and Pain Management will utilize portable radiographic equipment to include C-arms producing ionizing radiation to obtain radiographs for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes according to policies, procedures, and protocols of the KSC Radiology Department, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. This position will provide radiographic support, room setup, and will utilize the designated Radiology Information System (RIS) to complete clerical processes and the designated Patient Archiving System (PACS). May be assigned to other duties, technical or non-technical if training, experience, and credentials are deemed adequate by the supervisor to perform those duties.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize portable radiographic equipment including C-arms to obtain radiographs for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  • Provide radiographic support and room setup.
  • Utilize the designated Radiology Information System (RIS) for clerical processes.
  • Utilize the designated Patient Archiving System (PACS).
  • May be assigned to other duties as deemed adequate by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited program.
  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Radiology Tech II - Minimum of 3-years’ imaging experience or 2 years of KSC experience in the OR, Pain management and/or interventional radiography.
  • ARRT(R) certification.
  • MRT-General Certificate.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate’s in applied science-Radiology Technology.
  • Radiology Tech I - Minimum 1-year experience in surgery, pain management and/or interventional Radiography.
  • ARRT Interventional Radiography certification.
  • PACS and RIS experience.
  • Radiology Tech II - Greater than 3-years’ cumulative experience in surgery, pain management and/or interventional Radiography.
  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual.
