Radiology Technologist Aide - Rad-Admin
About The Position
The Radiology Technologist Aide (RTA) is a crucial piece of the Radiology workflow, encompassing multiple areas within the Radiology department. The Radiology Technologist Aide is responsible for the clerical duties within the file room such as answering and directing phone calls appropriately, pushing images as necessary to outside hospitals, organizing necessary patient paperwork, performing PACS exceptions, and more. The RTA also acts as the liaison between the patient, doctor and staff for several different communication needs with emphasis on strong interpersonal skills as the face of the radiology department. The RTA also serves as a clinical resource assistant to the CT and MRI techs whom they work alongside. The RTA assists in moving, positioning and transporting patients as necessary.
Requirements
- High school graduate required.
- Positive interpersonal communication skills, written and oral required.
- Ability to schedule radiology exams as required.
- Ability to make appropriate decisions with a moderate amount of supervisory direction required.
- Safe patient handling experience required and the ability to transport patients.
Nice To Haves
- 2 years of Radiology clerical experience preferred.
- BLS certified or become BLS certified within 6 months of hire
- Prior experience with radiology scheduling preferred.
- Background in medical terminology preferred.
- Knowledge with using PACS system and PACS exceptions preferred.
- Exceptional versatility and knowledge of clerical operations throughout radiology
Responsibilities
