About The Position

UPMC Shadyside is seeking an experienced Radiology Tech Advanced to join our Consolidated Outpatient Team at the UPP Orthopedic office located in the Medical Center Building.

Daylight shifts only: Choose between 7:30am–5:00pm or 8:30am–4:00pm
No weekends
No holidays
No on-call
Ortho X-rays only – focused, specialized workflow
No phlebotomy required
This is a high-volume, fast-paced orthopedic practice featuring two X-ray rooms, with the majority of studies focused on knee, hip, and foot imaging. If you enjoy orthopedic imaging and working closely with a dedicated specialty team, this is a fantastic opportunity.

Requirements

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• 2 years Diagnostic experience required.
• Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
• ARRT certified in Radiography.
• CPR or BLS Required.
• CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
• ARRT Certificate
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Act 34

Responsibilities

• Perform all responsibilities of a Diagnostic Tech I, while practicing at an advanced level
• Support or assist the Clinical Specialist with QA, regulatory testing, and technical/research initiatives
• Demonstrate advanced competency with specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro procedures, etc.)
• Monitor and maintain quality control standards in alignment with the most up-to-date imaging protocols
• Collaborate directly with Radiologists on protocol development
• Participate in system-wide standardization initiatives
• Provide mentorship and assist in training staff and student technologists
• Function independently while maintaining strong communication with leadership
